ABSTRACT:
Gallstone disease is one of the most prevalence gastrointestinal disease with a substantial burden to health care system. Cholelithiasis form because of many different disorder. Gallbladder stone is a chronic recurrent hepatobiliary disease the basis of which is characterized by the formation of the gallstone in the hepatic bile duct and common bile duct. Gallbladder disease worldwide is strongly associated to have caused considerable economic impact. In the United State there are more than 500000 cholecystectomy cases per year. 10-15% of adults have gallstones rates in many part of India. Gallbladder and biliary related disease occur in about 10 million people as of 2013 out of which 106000 comprise of women population as compare to that of men and they occur more commonly after the age of 40 years. The aim of the study is to assess the level of knowledge regarding life style modification of cholelithiasis. Descriptive survey research approach was used to conduct this study. The convenient sampling was used for 100 patients and caregivers admitted in surgical ward. Knowledge was measured by structured questionnaire. The data collected were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The following conclusion were drawn from the study. The patient had moderate knowledge regarding the life style modification of cholelithiasis.
