ABSTRACT:
A true experimental – study was conducted using pre test and post test with experimental and control group design by Nesakkarangal orphanage selected as experimental group and Anbalayam orphanage selected as control group by using lot, among 60 orphan children 30 samples were selected from each group by lottery method. Used standardized tools like problem behavior checklist, Human figure drawing projective technique before and after implementation of specific intervention for assessing the emotional status of the orphan children, Pretest was conducted for both the experimental and control group then specific interventions like Spiritual support, social support, play therapy, music therapy, counselling, personal and environmental hygiene was given only for experimental group for 14 days. After 2 weeks, Post test was conducted for both the experimental and control group. The collected data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics (independent ‘t’ test) and Chi-square analysis was also used and it was found to be effective when compared with pre test and post test scores.
