ABSTRACT:
The reduction of stress of working women has an important role to play in enabling effectiveness of deep breathing exercise intervention as an independent nursing intervention to reduce the level of stress at clinic and home1. The objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of deep breathing exercise on level of stress among the working women in selected area in Rajkot. The research design adopted was quasi – experimental time series pre – test, post – test with control group design. The conceptual framework for this study was based on King’s Theory of goal attainment. The study has been conducted at Bahumali government quarters, Rajkot. Non – probability purposive sampling technique has been adopted to select the desired sample. The sample size was 60. As an intervention of 30 minutes of deep breathing exercise was administered for experimental group. The data was collected through PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) which range from 0 to > 40 range. The collected data were analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. ‘F’ test was used to evaluate the effectiveness of deep breathing exercise on level of stress among the working women. The obtained ‘F’ value was 9.49766. The findings of the study revealed that deep breathing exercise helps in decreasing the level of stress among the working women.
