ABSTRACT:
Egg donation is the process by which a woman provides one or several (usually 10-15) eggs (ova, oocytes) for purposes of assisted reproduction or biomedical research. About five hundred donations take place in Canada every year, according to the Canadian fertility and Andrology society, a group representing fertility specialist. Fertility doctors tend to claim that egg donation is very safe, and the risk of serious complications is extremely low.
